Akin Odulate
As Idea Connection Systems’ Director of Operations, Design & Development, Akin Odulate oversees and coordinates all client projects and deliveries.

He is a 20+ year veteran of Operations and Business Development with global work experience on three different continents (USA, Europe and Africa) in several industries including TV/Cable & Digital Media Entertainment, Telecoms, ecommerce, Education – On-Line & Traditional, Manufacturing, and Software Development, Retail

With a Masters in Communication Management from the Annenberg School in Los Angeles and a BA in Cinema-Television from the George Lucas Film School at USC, Akin is also an experienced international business consultant, highly regarded for the analytical and communications skills he brings to the field of business operations optimization and development strategy.

In 2000, as Managing Director of Horizon Consulting PTY, LTD, Akin led the development of an innovative retail e-commerce system for small to medium retail enterprises called IRE [Internal Retail Engine] that was acquired by Spain-based 3G Mobile Applications developer, mCentricKSD.

In 2001, Akin was contracted by MTN Telecommunications LTD (Africa’s largest Mobile operator) on a two year project to evolve MTN’s Engineering Group’s operations from their initial start-up phase into a state of managed growth. He was responsible for the development of multiple business operating units including the design, development and implementation of a $600MM Supply Chain system that supported the rapid growth and development on one of the fastest growing mobile telecommunications networks in history.

He went on to lead Laureate Online Higher Education’s operations optimization project and ERP implementation as Executive Director for Operations, where he functioned as the team leader for Cross-Functional Processes – the business-architects responsible for the design, development and implementation of Laureate’s next generation business services platform.

As VP for Business Development and Research at Retirement Living Television (RLTV) – a leader in television programming for the 50+ demographic – Akin led the design and development of RLTV’s ‘needs-based’ content strategy – a strategy that helped RLTV aggregate its target demographic across multiple media platforms, from Print to the Web to Television, and led to the enhancement of partnership relations with key players with established brands like Comcast, AARP and AAA. He was also responsible for upgrading RLTV’s operations by leading the rapid four-month implementation of ISO 9001-2006 Quality Management System at RLTV. For his efforts, Akin was awarded the John C. Erickson Innovation Award in 2008.

Akin was born in Lagos, Nigeria and raised from age 11 in London, England. He is an avid soccer fan and still enjoys playing. Akin is a father of three boys and now resides in Rochester, NY.
