Ford has delivered speeches at industry events, lectured at universities, and spoken to smaller groups on topics on business operations, organization, and leadership. He has spoken at events in the United States, Europe, Canada, and Africa on International Business.

Ford’s speeches are sprinkled with anecdotes from his quarter century at IBM and a decade of founding and running his own business. Ford brings a unique perspective based on his statement that “he has been the elephant and has had to dance with the elephant”.


Ford C. Greene is an independent Management and Telecommunications Consultant. As President of Frontier Telephone of Rochester (NY), Ford was credited with successfully guiding Frontier through a tumultuous period following an acquisition by Citizens Communications.

Prior to being named President of Frontier, Ford was Founder and President of United Communications Systems International, Inc. (UCSI) which was a minority-owned telecommunications company that built and is currently operating a broadband fiber and wireless data network in Ghana, West Africa. UCSI provides voice telephony, internet access, and branch office interconnection to government and commercial clients. In addition, UCSI functioned as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and served as an Application Service Provider (ASP) for the PeopleSoft ERP applications.

Ford has over thirty years of extensive background and experience in the design and deployment of Broadband Data and Information Technology (IT) systems. Ford began his career in technology with the IBM Corporation in its large mainframe environment, specializing in application design and implementation and data communications. Ford’s IBM background consisted of management and executive positions in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Customer Education, including an executive position with the IBM Information Network (now the AT&T Global Network).

Ford culminated his IBM career as a Director in the Commercial Systems Organization. This division was a $250M Profit Center that specialized in terrestrial-based voice/and data networks in the Urban Rail, Electric Utility and Public Sector markets. This organization was a pilot program for the creation of the IBM Global Services Organization.

Since leaving IBM, Ford has held several executive positions with technology based firms where he managed the operations and engineering. Ford served as Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at North American Wireless, Inc. (NAWI) where he was responsible for the design, engineering, implementation, marketing and management of a North American Personal Communications Service (PCS) wireless network in partnership with Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T) and Cable & Wireless, Inc.

Ford is an acknowledged wireless communications industry leader, having served as keynote speaker for industry conferences and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Ford has testified at Congressional Hearings on behalf of Minority and Women owned businesses in telecommunications, and continues to be active in regulatory and legislative activities.

Ford studied Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and received his BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. He has completed post-graduate courses at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (MBA Certificate Program) and at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Ford resides with his wife in Webster, NY.
