Dr. John R. Walker – Executive Associate Dr. John Walker has been a member of the faculty of Roberts Wesleyan College since 1998. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Business and Director of the Master of Science in Strategic Leadership Program. Dr. Walker received his Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a specialization in Leadership and Organization and Change from Walden University in 2006. He co-authored and is currently teaching Organizational Leadership: Meeting the Challenges and Uncertainty of the Future through Servant Leadership. He also co-authored, Beyond Quality Management and Continuous Improvement, Current Business Issues and Practices, and Building Competitive Advantage through HR Development in the MSL Program, and authored the Integrative Project Guide and has advised numerous MSL projects. Dr. Walker earned his BS in Industrial Administration Degree from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University) in 1977 and his EMBA (Executive Masters of Business Administration) Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1995 where he majored in Total Quality Management.
Prior to joining the Roberts Wesleyan College family, Dr. Walker was a consultant with Idea Connection Systems to fortune 50 firms. Before this position he was a Corporate Training Officer at the Rochester Community Savings Bank, Rochester, NY. His purpose at Roberts is to help prepare men and women of good character to strive for excellence - to be the head in any endeavor they are given. He wants to give an additional perspective of understanding how human beings must be a major consideration in planning to maximize business performance through application of technology.
His community associations are: Board of Directors, The Charles G. Finney School; Member of Rochester Black Business Association, and member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). Dr. Walker also serves as Pastor of Faith Christian Center in Rochester.
