Lory Wells Hedges - Consultant

Lory Wells Hedges is a consultant with Idea Connection Systems delivering "Making the Invisible Visible" courses as well as consulting within the innovation and organizational areas. Her passion is the human system - the interaction between two people or two internal departments within a corporation. She enjoys leading the positive communication and energy between people or groups to generate a more efficient outcome.

She spent many years at Bausch & Lomb. Her career ranged from industrial engineer to process engineer to engineering manager for multimillion dollar capital projects. Projects involved new contact lens products, team building and systems. She was a key contributor to the initial Bausch & Lomb SeeQuence disposable lens product.

Lory is also active in the Rochester community and is involved in the Mosaic Partnerships program in Rochester. She was a coach in 2000 and 2006 and provides ongoing support within Idea Connection systems.

She has an Industrial Engineering degree from Purdue University. Her other interests include teaching quilting to a Compeer Quilting group, yoga, walking, writing, Toastmasters and the company of good friends.

Lory is also a grant writer specializing in grants for small to medium size businesses and non profit organizations. Areas of expertise include NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Association), NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and NYS Manufacturing grants through High Tech of Rochester. In 2007, writing of non-profit grants was added to the core business.
